Mountain Riding in VA & WV.
Just finished two days in VA and WV mountains w my 2016 V6 M6 and must say that this car performed incredibly! WOW! Ive been thru these areas several times on my motorcycle (Yamaha FJR1300) but this was the first in a car. The first part of the trip included Skyline Drive. This road is nice but the low legal speed limit and RVs make it less enjoyable than it could be. From there, I went to Cass WV thru lots of switchbacks, S-turns and elevation changes. The straights are marked 55 which then leads into twisties as you go up, over and down the mountains. Left Cass and traveled back east to Charlottesville, VA. The engine, transmission and suspension were just fantastic. The V6 had plenty of pull up the mountains and the manual gave precise control whether up or down. The suspension and stock Goodyears never made me hesitate going into or coming out of the turns. Followed a fellow Silver Gen 6 out of Cass heading for Snowshoe for a few miles before realizing I was heading West (Doh!).
So jealous of those that get to ride the mountains right out of their backdoors. Flat South NJ has none of that. |

Glad you enjoyed WV (my home state). The mountains in Pocahontas County (Cass) are wonderful and enjoyable to drive. Route 66 (not the famous one) over to Snowshoe is a fun drive. Been across that one many times.
Did you ride the train? Howard

We came down for the purpose of riding the Cass Railroad and running the new Camaro thru the twisties. It was a nice time. Did the 4.5 hour tour with lunch included for $60. How can you best that? Actually stumbled onto Cass in 2014 on a MC trip. |

I was raised in Valley Head. It's a little town about 15 miles from Snowshoe.
