Wouldn't the ecm allow for timing to increase once increased octane is sensed? Example if you run 87, the ecm pulls timing, then if you run 89 doesn't it re-calibrate? Then re-calibrate for 91 and 93 and so forth?

Here's whats interesting. This 100 octane calibration isn't available for 2017+ C7 Z06s. Most people's theory is that the 17+ LT4 (in the Z06 and I guess ZL1 too) comes from the factory able to take advantage of 100 octane fuel without needing a separate calibration.
Problem is people have done some digging in HP Tuners and haven't found anything (as far as I can remember) that shows this in the tune between and '15 and '17 Z06. |
