Now the front dive planes I don't like the looks of. Track performance wise, they'd be a welcome addition. Not crazy about the blacked out hood either. Never have been much on that look. I wouldn't say the black hood is ugly....just doesn't look as good as body color to me. Same goes for the black mirrors. I'm having mixed feelings on the wing. Some angles it looks freaking awesome, then others, not so much. I think it mostly boils down to how high it stands. I think it would look better if it was lower. Not as low as the standard ZL1, but not as high as it is. Maybe somewhere in between. Who knows, I may have a different opinion on all of it if I see it in person. Cleetus went nuts over it.

I dislike the wheels. I feel like I'm with the minority on here who dig the current 20" wheels. Not big on the revised splitter, dive planes, wing, mirrors, hood... Again, I like the current setup. I'm not biased, just my opinion. It's interesting to me that so many like the looks of this car. I like the dark tail lamps and 3rd brake light. If the were red it would be a lot worse. "...and a 6-speed manual as God intended."

So, GM gave the ZL1 the Viper ACR treatment, big wing, front down force aero, sticky race tires, etc... and the ACR was insanely quick around a track, broke multiple track records. I like it. Hope the ZL1 1LE can do the same.

Looks like my little birdie was spot on about the tire size last year but they never said what it would be called and now we know why. This is what I posted May 2016 in the Z/28 forum.

Wonder how much weight, if any, the 19 inch wheels save?

And they wonder why the 6th Gen aren't selling as expected.....Geez
Again, I said this many times, Marketing people need to be fired. What they should have done was put a car in the so called MIDDLE. 1LE...Middle....ZL1 Middle maybe have the 650hp engine, normal shocks, no recaro, cloth guts....anyhoo, a car that would take 10G off the price of the ZL1. This way its more affordable to the common Joe. and not alienate the so called top of the line ZL1 owners. -Bobby

The 'stick-only' may have been a recent characteristic of the 1LE package, but it was not so in the early days of 1LE. I knew a couple guys many years ago who had early 1LE Camaros, a 1989 and a 1990 model. Both cars had auto trans, because they ordered the 350 engine and at that time, you got an auto with the 350, mandatory. If you wanted a stick shift, you got the 305 engine.

I'm sure this is a beast on the track, but aesthetically, this car is atrocious. The wing, the canards...it just has a hodgepodge of 'No Way' going on here. I do like the front splitter though. I just can't see myself driving this around town or going out on date night with the wifey. For those who already own a zl1, you know it draws bundles of attention. However, i don't want the attention that would come along with this thing. Just my opinion.
