What type of paint should I use if I want to paint the bow ties? Thanks

Oh good question. Looking to see what has worked. I've debating buying them but they want something like $75 each.

I painted the entire bumper front and back on a beater Nissan Xterra recently.
Used rustolium flat black. Seems like that would work. I might wax the chrome part rather than tape it too. Hard to tape perfectly without getting a line somewhere - I've used that technique before works pretty good. Put wax on the chrome area before painting and then spray the whole thing. Rubs right off.

Rustoleum is fine......but the bow ties are the first thing the eye sees on your car, don't go cheap and let Lupe paint some for you.....

Thanks! One more question. How would I make it glossy?

With automotive clear....but if you're asking this question I don't think you should start right now trying to understand painting… have a body shop do it for you for 50 bucks

Oh those are killer ! I'm sold.

The factory ones are boring - I have them on My Colorado. Not worth the $. But those custom ones totally worth the $$!! Thanks for the link !

A pair of genuine GM black bowties is $75 on ebay. Might have to remove the front fascia to install the front one. Rear one should come off with a heat gun.

I second plasti-dip.

I just did the whole thing black with plasti-dip. No sense in paying $100+ for the badges or painting over the whole thing.

I use plastidip a lot and love the stuff, if you want a badge that is matte, with a bit of smoothness (glossifier) it'll work good. And yeah, try it first.....Bit don't compare it to a badge professionally painted with automotive base+gloss...it's a diff league.
