Keep in mind the 2017 1LE outran the Z51 Vette by a notable margin with Randy Pobst during this years Motor Trend Best Drivers Car Competition. I'm confident that it would take care of a 1LT even more handily.

To me the only reason to go with the Vette is if you like it better as a status symbol. But I acknowledge that I'm WAY MORE concerned with a car's performance to price ratio than most people. The corvette will be more than enough car for 99.9% of the general population.

The 1LE is a badass track car.. In terms of acceleration, it'll be the same as the SS which is a few tenth slower than the Stingray Vette. Unless the OP is going to do some hardcore tracking, it won't really matter.

GM's numbers 0-60:

SS - 4.3
SS 1LE - 4.2

Same car, same engine just MRC, bigger tires and suspension tweaked for the track

No HUD
I already deleted the mufflers on my camaro and did some small aesthetic stuff I'd "have" to do on the vette.
C8 may be coming out soon leaving me with a previous generation car vs my camaro which I assume will not be redesigned for years
No lighting kit, I really like the red interior lights on my camaro
More cramped for my two dogs

Don't care about:
The fancy stuff like heated sears I have on my 2ss but won't on the Vette
Small trunk

I am surprised the insurance on the corvette is $100 more per month over the Camaro SS. I have owned corvettes in the past and the insurance on them was actually lower due to the general age demographic and other stats.

That said, the you listed out the reasons. I think the targa would be nice to have on certain days when the weather is just right. I think if you want the more aggressive sports car looks then the corvette delivers. The driver oriented cockpit is nice as well. I wouldn't get hung up on the M7 gearbox since the extra gear is just an overdrive gear for highway cruising. I also think the corvette will hold its value better than the Camaro so if you plan to keep it for a while it may not cost much more than the Camaro over the long haul.

Most likely the Vette. I should have done my research and found out I could have gotten a Vette for the same price as my 2ss :(

I love mine - and have ....
thoroughly enjoyed it at the track.
