Talking BMR Suspension New Product Release - Rear Cradle Lockout Kit - BK063

Rear Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit for 2016-Newer Chevrolet Camaro
BK063

Reduce Wheelhop, bushing deflection, and cradle movement on your 2016-newer Chevrolet Camaro with a Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit from BMR Suspension. Built from CNC-machined Delrin, laser-cut stainless steel, and billet aluminum, BMR’s BK063 Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit is designed to greatly reduce cradle bushing deflection. This is one of the biggest causes of wheelhop. BMR’s BK063’s Delrin upper bushing inserts are CNC-machined and specifically designed to fill the voids in the factory rubber bushings (front and rear). The additional hollow space is filled with CNC-aluminum “bullet” inserts. The kit is finished with laser-cut stainless steel washers that capture the lower Delrin inserts and prevent up and down movement. By filling the voids in the bushings, deflection is greatly reduced, and more power and torque can be transferred to the ground instead of being absorbed by the chassis. BMR Suspension designed the BK063 Rear Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit for street performance, drag race, and handling applications. This 100% bolt-on kit use existing boltholes and hardware, allowing for easy 2-hour installation with simple hand tools. Once installed, the Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit minimized bushing and cradle deflection with no significant change in NVH. When performance is a must, rely on BMR Suspension!

If there's no increase in NVH do you all have any thoughts as to why GM engineered in some deflection there? Just comfort?

OEMs design bushings based on many factors to include NVH/comfort and durability while achieving desired performance levels and acceptable manufacturing costs.

Deflection in the bushings does make for a more "comfortable" ride. One of the more important functions of the OEM designs are to absorb driveline and road noise.

This is very interesting. I am curious if any one would feel any difference in daily driving with this kit?

Absolutely!

Removing the deflection from the IRS Subframe/Cradle makes for more enjoyment when putting the car through its paces.

The OEM IRS system deflects A LOT under normal driving conditions. This deflection leads to a feeling of being "disconnected". This Bushing Lockout Kit provides a much better driving experience, whether its just WOT pulls, handling or braking, etc.

The primary "issue" that we see with the OEM system is that the cradle moves enough to promote an oscillation within the system, which leads to erratic knuckle movement and geometry change.

Just talked to Kelly about this kit. Sounds like a very easy install. No dropping the cradle and can be installed in around an hour or so. This will probably be my next suspension purchase. He said 60 ft times should be quicker also and just as good a ride as you have now.

Definitely - one of the biggest updates you can do for chassis feel. Usually this is done via stiffer bushings - but this type of kit will still use the softer stock components to remove any higher-frequency vibrations so as not to turn your car into a vibrating rattle can that clanks every time you run over a hairline fracture in the road.
