Detailing

Hello, I was just detailing my Black Camaro using...

Meguiars Gold Class High Gloss Premium Quik Detailer 24 oz

http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-pre...-detailer.html

and to while with these...

Edgeless Microfiber Quick Detail Towel, 6 Pack

http://www.autogeek.net/quick-detail-towel-6.html

Problem is the MF towels are leaving little lint everywhere, I have tried everything to get ride of them. Shaking the towels out, I have washed them in the water and dried them. The lint is still there. Are these just cheap MF's? Is there ones you recommend to use that will not leave lint.?

Thanks

Bruce

Yup cheap...get the 500 GSM towels from microfibertech, I own about 30 of them. Griots gold towels are also good. You should be paying about 3 bucks a towel for good ones.

Towels are the most important tool you can buy in detailing....

I'm a fan of The Rag Company for my Microfiber towels. Glen's info is spot on.

I also agree with SPARTAN sui. Rag company sells high quality rags for cheap. There are many different types of MF to choose from.

Hey Bruce, Sometimes when your paint needs clayed it will intensify the lint from your MF towels because your towels don't glide over your paint easily. When your paint is clean place your hand in a sandwich baggie and gently rub over your paint this will tell you if you need to clay. Hope this helps.

Glen gave me the same advice regarding the microfibertech towels and, while my new car isn't here yet, I have used them already on my old car and couldn't be happier.

+1

Glen

I have a 2LT that I'm waiting to be delivered (built last week).

I'm wondering if it is okay to follow your process of claying (Nanoskin), then sealing with Crystal on a brand new paint job.

Are todays paint processes such that there is no need to wait a couple of months?

Jerry

If you read the docs you'll see it's for a brand-new car. You can do anything to a brand-new car .....waiting 30 days is for stuff that comes out of your local body shop not the factory. Everything at the factory is baked on and can instantly be detailed. New Corvettes are delivered at the factory museum after a detail and the paint is less than a week old.

I took Glen's advice and ordered some of these cloths from microfiber tech. They are excellent! Thanks Glen for your continued great advice.
