I do not understand why people paying less than MSRP will mean a loss on every unit sold, unless of course, it is normal for most buyers to pay at least MSRP and profit is dependent on that behavior. Granted the turbo 4 is likely offered as part of meeting CAFE so Chevy may keep the price low to keep the mix correct, but this is not a case of trying to sell sub or micro compacts to an unreceptive public.
Also, according to our local news reports, the turbo Mustang is outselling the rest of the Mustang lineup put together. I forget when the new CAFE standards take effect, but if January 1, 2016 is the date that could be the reason the turbo 4 release will be delayed. Laborsmith |
