I doubt they would use a 2.0 though, the mustang uses a 2.3 liter and chevy usually likes more displacement

Just curious, how are you managing more torque than power in your 4 cylinder? I've never tried to tune / modify one but I thought the general rule was that while 4s could make good power, they would always lack in torque. |

When comparing stock...a 2011 - 2014 V6 with PP was faster and I'll bet money that the new Camaro with the LGX V6 (335 HP in the Cadillac) will be faster than a stock Ecoboost in the 1/4 mile (The 8 speed transmission should help a fair amount.). That said, no n/a V6 will be a good match for a tuned/bolted turbo 4. Nobody can say for sure but based on my experience with the LLT/LFX V6, but I'd say that with some bolt ons and a tune, the new LGX would top out around 350 - 360 HP and 300 - 310 TQ. In the Camaro's case, I believe the T4 will be the base engine, and won't be the competitor for the Ecoboost, whereas the LGX V6 will be an optional engine, and will compete with the Ecoboost. It should be faster, and get as good of mileage with its 4 cylinder mode, and 8 speed auto transmission. That's assuming the Camaro does actually get a turbo 4 cylinder.

As far as GM plans, it will be the 2.0T LTG based or nothing I'm betting. There's been no rumors of a bigger displacement variant, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist either. Like KMPrenger said, the likely plan is for a 2.0T as the base engine for LS, then offer the V6 in LT trims. Most new turbo cars I've been around make much more TQ than HP and respond very well to some simple mods and especially tuning. The APR stage 1 tune I had on my Wolfsburg was good for 30whp and almost 70ft lbs of TQ. Putting down 300ft lbs or more was not uncommon at all for a tune, intake, and exhaust.

My torque peaks between 3000 and 3500rpms so it feels great jumping from lights. If chevy does release turbo 4 we will probably be sharing the same aftermarket vendors and tuners.

Ok so now back to this 2.0 that has now been announced to be a direct drop in from the Cadillac ats which will bring 270/295 at the crank.
Ford's Mustang Ecoboost is rated at 310/320 using premium fuel it has been admitted that it looses about 10% of that HP when using regular gas which it can also run on just fine. Do you guys know if Chevy is rating the engine with regular or premium? I would think premium since it is coming from the caddy which I would assume is rated for premium but maybe I'm wrong and it really makes closer to 300 HP using premium

That would make sense but I have someone telling me that Chevy always rates output using regular gas so I just wanted to see what you guys think

I'm away from my pc but bet you can look up the info on the Cadillac website. If premium is the recommended fuel, then the ratings are on 91.

Regardless of fuel once you start adding parts and a tune its gonna need 93 so who cares unless its just a daily driver.

True that, I have tune files for 91 and 93 right now. I imagine Livernois will also be coming out with a version for the camaro. It's gonna be funny seeing all the muscle cars with blow off valves riding around a year from now

No what's funny will be all the FWD people screaming it's unfair the mustangs and camaros now have turbo fours and RWD. Bet the hot hatch market is going to take a hit in sales.
