I could spend time typing it up but the list of what it would take to make the NG Camaro competitive with an RS5 for me wouldn't be that extensive. GM already has the power train if they use the LT1 with an 8 speed. It can be done and all it would take is making it the best car they can. Doesn't need Audi build quality or materials for me. But GM could be verrrrrry close by just putting the best Chevy interior to date with the previously mentioned power train. Might not work for others but it would work for me if they do what I have in my head.

The Camaro is produced in much higher numbers allowing the cost of development to be spread farther, which in turn helps keep cost down. This along with more buying power.

What do you mean by quality? If your talking quality of interior materials and the number of luxury features, then yes its not as "high quality". But if your talking build quality....track quality...the ability to go lap after lap after lap and kick the audi's @ss on the track...well it has got that in spades. That Z/28 isn't gonna fall apart any quicker than an Audi...or any other expensive car brand.

I meant quality of materials. I have no doubt the current and future Camaros are well built vehicles.
My point is there is no free lunch. You can't built a Camaro that is built well with the same quality of materials used in the car and the same performance yet cost substantially less. |

I'm bumping this thread to the top just so it'll be underneath the new thread filled with so many people completely shocked and whining about how the new Camaro is evolutionary and not revolutionary.

Always been a fan of the 5th gen exterior so I like the new look. The real excitement for me is going to be the interior reveal. That's what kept me from buying a 5th gen.

I really liked the 10-11 interior. My 13 just isn't the same.

Everyone knew it would be evolutionary. Very few people expected a radical design change. That still doesn't mean what was leaked today was any good.
