And I'm not attempting to cry about the censorship. I'm merely stating that what one person understands as "NSFW" is not what everyone understands. I have a completely different opinion about what the purpose of NSFW is than Chris does (quite obviously). Or at least, we disagree on the content. Or maybe our disagreement is a little more complex than that. I see it as: There might be stuff in here that is potentially offensive to someone. If you are easily offended, don't open. If you're in the company of other people who may be easily offended, don't open (such as in the work place). That does not mean put blatant offensive material in here. But it does mean that I can put things in there that I think the majority of the people posting will enjoy, as long as it doesn't violate general intentionally offensive subject material (porn, racism, political stuffs, religious stuffs....) There will always be someone offended by almost everything that goes on the internet. I mean people are offended at how Carl's Jr. "takes advantage of women". Those ads may be considered "NSFW" for some. Until recently, that was ok. Now, the topic that is NSFW as I understood it, is no longer allowed. That's fine. But the reason it crossed the line is because people understood the allowed content differently than others. That's my only point. What is "NSFW" just does not mean the same thing to everyone.

I will grant that is an extreme example, but extreme examples are useful because they illustrate points more easily. You would know that you should use a different pic that didn't show the half-naked girl or the f-word, and that's the entire point. I feel you choose not to see it rather than it being an invalid point. For the record in the past I have mentioned to a couple people that they are pushing it too far and to re-consider their posts here that went over the line. I was told that I was worried about nothing. Those folks ruined it, not Tran.

I posted, "People at work should be working...." You then quoted me and replied, "You're not the boss of me." Nowhere in my original statement did I imply that I was your boss. If you felt guilt, that response displayed it. At any rate, I made a general statement relating to the original topic and what people view at work and so it most surely was not a personal attack upon you. 'nuff said.

But I disagree with your point, because your scenario was a person asking questions about a wheel. For me personally, if I'm asking a question, or showing everyone this cool wheel I saw, nothing prompts me to find a picture of said wheel that is accompanied by a girl at all. Maybe that's just me, but I kind of doubt it. I don't feel because of judgment, but because the focus is on the wheel, not on the G-string. Now if your scenario was a person posting pics that were like "oh em gee check out this awesome wheel", then I could see your point. But even then, most people still post just the wheel. A topic about "hot chicks and cars" however, is focused on both things equally. And those were already directed to be in the OT section. Maybe we're both just making assumptions on the opposite ends of the middle.

The reason why the pic was posted is not the point, it wasn't done. The point is that we can say with a fair amount of certainty that regardless of precise reason, we as a group have not posted the pic I describe in that forum- because we haven't, not that I guess we haven't. I think we can both agree with the point that e haven't done it. I don't feel that it's a stretch to feel that some type of judgment was at work, when we didn't, which is to say: always. The OT forum is not where that pic was OK by the rules to begin with. That rule was always in place, it was just not enforced in OT. The OT forum is part of the C5 site and the rules apply to it all. We just don't like that the rules are now being applied equally. To me, any argument that ignores the fact that we all really knew NSFW was never OK here in OT is just rationalization of behavior. It was tolerated, wink wink nudge nudge. And yeah, I liked those threads too. We poked the bear too often. I cannot say it's unfair.

Also, the general statement is not the one I misunderstood to be an attack.

Why would anyone want a free-for-all site that has no rules? Egad, anarchy is not something I find useful. I'd stick here where the focus is on Camaro related topics (as that is why I come here).

For example, I would say that at my job, women in bikinis is Not Safe For Work (I didn't open that topic on my breaks at all for that reason). Regardless of it being NSFW, it was allowed, by the rules on this forum provided that "poses must not be suggestive or erotic in nature."... a side note, which can also be a point of debate... so we'll dodge that... Again, I'm not saying that wasn't violated at all. But my point is that "NSFW" and "against the rules" are not the same thing. So if you say that I should know what is NSFW and that I should know I shouldn't post it, I disagree because some of those items are indeed allowed to be posted, while still not being safe to view in the workplace.

It's odd that the staff hasn't posted and explained in threads such as this, or have they?

It's kind of been explained over the years with various "easy guys" comments. I think one of the moderators address the recent issues in another similar thread though. Basically people were pushing the limits too much and the line got drawn.
