Aussie Tire Murderers Holden Special Vehicles Could Come To America
PLEASE lets this happen!
Aussie Tire Murderers Holden Special Vehicles Could Come To America Massive supercharged V8s, ridiculous horsepower figures, and the wholesale genocide of rear tires: Australia's Holden Special Vehicles does these things extremely well. But what are they to do with the end of General Motors' unique Australian market cars in sight? HSV could come to America, where plenty of people still appreciate good V8 shenanigans, according to this report in Australia's Motoring. HSV is a joint venture between GM and Walkinshaw Performance. But with an end to Holden manufacturing slated for 2017, HSV will lose its core cars, particularly the Aussie-built Commodore we now get as the Chevrolet SS. As a result, Walkinshaw is considering doing business in the U.S. as Chevrolet Special Vehicles. Why the hell not, right? From Motoring: "We think something like that (CSV) could work," Walkinshaw told motoring.com.au. "It depends on what products are available. It's going to depend on the discussions with GM going forward. There's a lot of factors we have to take into account.Sweet. Motoring notes that cars that Holden, er, Chevrolet Special Vehicles could want to get their hands on cars like the next-generation Chevrolet Camaro and the U.S.-made replacement for the Chevrolet SS. I'd love to see them do up a Cadillac ATS or CTS too. All those cars will use the same GM Alpha platform developed in Michigan. It may not be that far fetched. GM global product chief Mark Reuss and a few other execs came up at Holden, and they all have good relationships with HSV. Come to America, Holden Special Vehicles! We'll give you a good home, show you all the good roads for hooning, and teach you how you've been wrong about football for all these years. Feel free to bring some utes with you if you're so inclined. |

This is cool and all but isn't all the technology, powertrains and such already shared with Chevrolet? What does Holden have that Chevrolet doesn't besides that El-Camino thingy?

Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) is not an in house performance division of Holden like SVT was at Ford or AMG is at Mercedes. They are a separate compnay that operates kind of like what SLP used to with Chevy during the 4th Gen Camaro days. Except they are totally insane. They take Holden performance cars and turn them into monsters you can buy at the dealership.

IN case some are misunderstanding, in 2017 Holden production will cease in Australia leaving HSV with no cars to modify anymore. Rather than shut down they may move the operation and then work their magic on Chevrolet/GM production vehicles like the Camaro, CTS, etc.

93K in Australian dollars for the GTS, equivalent to 84.63K US dollars. About 25k more than the ZL1...I'll take the ZL1

They could bring back The Last of The V8 Interceptors!
(it sounds better when you say it with an Aussie accent) I mean seriously, an updated Falcon XB, with a Wieand Supercharger that you can turn on and off, with side pipes? Come on you know you want one.
