Just keep all your records of all your dealer visits in regards to the same issue. After a few service visits on the same issue and if the dealer can't resolve it you may be able to return it through the "Lemon Law" act. I've done it on a previous car. I had a knock that they couldn't fix after a few months they contacted me and told me to stop paying and drop it off at the dealer.

Don't think my V6 LFX has that much noise. lol
I'd enlist the help on the GM customer service peeps in this thread to get some quicker action! Good luck!

The ZR1 has a different blower, its 2.3L vs the 1.9 on the ZL1, I don't know if the ZR1 does it

You can't hear any rattle at all on the GT500. MY ZL1 had the rattle from day 1, bit not as bad as yours.

Is there any other zl1 owner out there that had there supercharger replaced by gm under warranty? If so can you provide me with the last 8 digits of your vin. Reason being my dealer asked for this info so they can do further research to see how many of them gm replaced.

I have seen at least two on here that had it replaced. There are a couple ZR1 guys on other forums that have had them repalced too, but it wasn't the coupler it was the rotors. You might have knocking rotors, but that should turn into a screach after you put a couple hundred miles on it. You know, it takes about 200 miles to bed the rotors into each other. You need some heat cylces on it.

Hey Now,
My understanding is that if you change to a solid coupler, this takes care of the problem. Does it void the warranty if you make this change? Not that I'm suggesting you should have to pay ANYTHING to get a new car up to standard. My Alternator was bad, right off the tee and I got alerts the first couple of drives. I took it back, and there was a bad connection that caused it to melt to the alternator. The dealer was real cool and replaced the whole deal, no problem. |

I spoke to the dealer today. They got the replacement supercharger in & will go in this week for replacement. Apparently the S/C has a new part# starting with 193. Apparently this is the revised S/C but noone at GM can seem to confim what if anything was revised. At this point if it makes noise they'll get it back, & again, & again until it either gets fixed or it goes to lemon law!
