TPMS question for ZL1 1LE?

Hello to all,

So I just bought some apex wheels for Memorial Day sale and I just realized the TPMS has temp readings (cold, cool, warm etc. If I get another set of OEM sensors I’m assuming it had to get programmed to my car?

I do t know how these sensors work? Will the temp work if I swap wheels back and forth (or does it work on a certain frequency) where it can work even when swapping wheels?

Thanks in advance
Fred

Yes temps will work Pressure and temp are related so most sensors I would imagine have both temp and pressure sensors built in. I have a set of apex wheels that I swap back and forth and re-program myself with the handheld thing from amazon I think it was twenty bucks. I bought the sensors from apex and installed them when I put tires on. Have not had any issues moving back and forth. I still get all the pressure and temp data when downloading the PDR data.

Hope that helps

They need to be reset anytime the wheels are moved, and occassionally they will need to be reset, as mine did yesterday.

Had a flat on right rear. However, the TPMS warning monitor in dash said it was driver's side rear. Discount Tire patched the tire and reset the monitors with their tool.
