oil catch can full after 200 miles
Hey,
couldnt find anything so quick via search. Got my Camaro cammed and now my 2oz oil catch can is full after every 200miles/complete refuel. Before it was only half full every other 1000miles..Driving style is same as before. Anything I should worry about, or is that normal for cammed? it's a 2016 2SS AT8 |

Did you install aftermarket valve covers or keep the original ones?

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=609759 Your oil capture in your catch can seems excessive to me compared to what you had prior to the cam installation. Maybe other forum members will chime in with their thoughts. For starters I would get a larger catch can that can store more oil while you look for the source of the additional oil. I would hate to accidentally have the engine drawing oil from a full catch can. Maybe include details on what cam and associated hardware was installed so others can offer their insight about why this is happening. |

If a shop did the cam install - did they perhaps cross up the installation of the catch can lines when they put it back on?

I think you have a bigger issue than needing a bigger catch can if it fills up after 200 miles

the workshop installed their 3" catback exhaust on my car with 10-15% less back pressure than the stock exhaust
now there is hardly anything in the oil catch can, just like before. problem solved, don't ask me how |
