So I finally got a ride in my buddy's Hellcat Challenger
WTF !
absolute insane acceleration, adequate brakes for the curb weight. 50-60% Cat throttle is full throttle on my stock SS (re; butt dyno) 130mph arrived in the blink of an eye from a 50mph roll. Interior: very spacious, I actually like the 13yo interior, a lot. rode very smooth, it should its a heavy pig, I like the car way better than my SS, however I much prefer the ZL1 over the two. If you ever get a chance for a ride along or a test drive do it the Cat is stupid fast and chit load of fun but land you in jail very easily. I got to get a ZL1 a factory blower is seductive and addictive |

You just bought a 2SS, either trade right now or upgrade your car, but don't wait too long
The supercharger is a game changer in a straight line, but otherwise the Challenger is a fast boat. That's not always bad, the seats are comfy, there is more space inside, but don't ask it to turn fast.

She's very heavy, we just did straight line pulls,
I could tell right away the Heavycat would have massive under steer on corner entry the Z would destroy it on a road course Time is running out on a new Z , sigh |

You'll like a Tesla even more.

Or a Taycan, a Lucid Air or a Rimac Nevera, just to stick to a nice progression in power. They are all much faster in a straight line and especially off the line. I'm not sure an EV is what OP is interested in, though.

I had a Hellcat lease back in 2016 when they were running stupid lease deals on them. Got a manual Challenger for $571 a month with $3500 total out of pocket. That car was a riot in a straight line, but like you said, you feel its weight in the corners. The crazy thing is, the lease buyout was around $41k, but they were bringing around high 30’s then, so I gave it back. Now you need to spend at least $10k more to buy a similar used one

Hes all about straight line. EV is the ultimate for straight line.

My DD is a Tesla Model S Long Range (0-60 3.1s, 1/4 mile 10.8s) and I can vouch for the straight line performance. It will dominate my SS1LE in a straight line and it does handle very well, but not like the 1LE. The 1LE will destroy the Tesla on a road course with its cornering and braking capability. Even with the acceleration of the Tesla, the SS is so much more fun to drive. I love both cars for different reasons, but if it's just about the fun factor, the SS wins hands down. The SS feels alive, like it has a soul and the Tesla is empty in that regard. That's the best way I can explain it.
If the Hellcat is a Widebody, it probably handles pretty similar to the Tesla. Very good for a street car, but not a track car.
