HEADS/CAM TIMESLIPS
Went out last night with the new setup . 3480 raceweight. Da from 2100-1500.
FBO/E85/Dragpak/ stock ported heads/ Cam motion Titan 3 cam. The 60ft still sucks . Shift points were near stock. I got to back to the tuner and tell him to adjust shift points to 6700rpm. I don’t know how much it would help but my car feels like it’s short shifting every gear at 6350. Also, my converter is a Circle D 3X 3600-38000 stall. Is getting a bigger stall the only way to get a low 1.4 or high 1.3 ? This converter is already a little annoying to drive around. I can imagine a 4500-6000 stall. Anyway IT IS WHAT IT IS. I think it can be a little quicker but way off even from some fast Bolt on Cars . Don’t know how much a High Ram would help for ET? If anybody has any advise or info, I’ll take it . I went from 6.78 at 103 to a 6.65 at 106 . Tough to justify 6k out of pocket for 3mph increase. Hopefully the higher shift points will bring down the ET. shift rpm seems low. i shift my bolt on car at 6700.
what did you do with compression? id expect 5+ mph from a ported head/cam swap.

Stock compression. Same size valves but solid SS valves . BTR .660 springs , GMPP lifters , Che trunion kit. All the head work was done by Westcoast Cylinder head. Good people over there. Thanks for the feedback. I wanted a little compression but the plan is to run nitrous so I left the compression stock. I guess extending that shift point will do the trick then. Thank you

if you have a dynograph, id use that as a gauge for shift points. otherwise you can use airflow to get a general idea of where it's laying over.

I do have a dyno graph . It layed over at 6500 but it was a pretty hot day and didn’t make much power . Whe temps get colder im sure it will carry the power a little further .

2021 LT1 new PB
Wow . I guess its been a year since I posted on here . Seems like the forum is slowing down nevertheless I’ll post my new PB for the car. It’s been some time and the car is now making
573/526 on the dyno N/A on pump E. Went from a 3800 stall to 4800 stall and added a GPI electric water pump just recently . Car ran consistent 6.1xx in the 1/8. Raceweight is 3275 and DA was 500. |
