I assume you don't have a RF type inlet now.

I have a RF big gulp now. Looks like you would have to unscrew the inlet from the box then run the new maf housing through the box and connect their filter.

Interested to see how this works out for you. Thanks for playing guinea pig lol!

That Whipple filter will slip over my current inlet for daily use, and I'll use the bellmouth at the track.

Something to mess with over the winter. As long as the new maf housing is long enough to reach the coupler that attaches to the MAF housing and intake elbow it should be pretty simple.

Agreed. Going from 4.5” to 4.75” doesn’t sound like much, but it’s an 11% increase in pipe volume. Might be just what the doctor ordered.

I’ve always thought the pinch in the bend to clear the fan would be the biggest restriction. Personally I would rather trim the fan and have a solid tube in that spot

It adds another 90, but aiming the BM's opening at the ram air/headlight should also help at speed. I would have to remove the RF to do that.

Should be easy to test. In the same air, if it picks up boost then it likes the bigger diameter maf housing.

The tough part is waiting on the same DA, or correcting for different DA or ambient pressure

Whipple filter has the exact same size opening as the Rotofab k&n filter does, slightly less than 6 in.

When I get the silicone coupler for the belmouth I will fit this filter on the inlet tube, but I don't believe it's a great fit for the RF

The second pic shows the foam I used to close the RF and WW liner gap. You can also see one of the wrapped intercooler lines.

The third pic shows the DEI heat reflective material on the engine side of the RF

The 4th pic shows another piece of foam to close the other gap to the hood.

Just did the same thing... thanks again for the advice... although I think I can seal a little more...

If VR made the final mold with a flanged lip with holes for this filter and shortened the length so it would fit, you could run with it or without a filter. Could be pretty sweet. Here is that maf housing and filter from PMAS Technologies. The inlet of their MAF housing is already somewhat a bell mouth. Just setting the VR intake to accept the filter could be badass. They make a regular filter and the race version.

I would be willing to ship either or both of these to whoever is designing that intake for nothing. Just give me a deal on the intake once it’s done.
