Also changed mine at 1,500 miles at the same time as the second oil change. As others have said it's cheap peace of mind. I likely wait until 10,000 miles to change it again.

The High Performance Supplement says to get it changed at 1500 miles. While this isn't necessary in the larger picture, GM wants you to change it at that point to maintain full warranty if you track the car.
I did mine at 1500 (ish) like many others simply because "it can't hurt". Also, you can do it yourself pretty easily and cost-effectively. It will cost you a couple of quarts of fluid and the transfer pump. total cost is probably about $60. |

This, not 45k. I was going to look this up to be sure. Maybe some people didn’t do their supplemental reading. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I did mine at 505 & 1,500, both times had a fair amount of stuff on the magnet, did it again at 4,000 miles and the magnet had very little on it, was glad to get all the gunk out early... Cheap insurance...

GM Schedule Maintenance I'm sure coincides with mileage. Maybe like the national average of 12 to 15K yearly , so time and mileage , if they don't coincide , then I would use time as my maintenance schedule . Like on your oil change sticker , we hit time before the recommended mileage . Same with all the other fluids , cooling , brake fluid , Diff .
I serviced the Diff at first oil change @700 miles So let's say I drive the NA of 15k that's 3 years til 45k Diff service, time and mileage coordinate. But at 5k a year it would be 9 years to reach the recommended mileage , 6 years past the time factor of 3 years ( and mileage would be 15k ) , at this mileage I would use the time factor as my schedule of maintenance . Brake fluid is a time sensitive fluid , I wouldn't wate 9 years to reach let's say the 45k mileage maintenance schedule. JMO time over mileage.
