Vibration noise in stick while driving - 2.0 turbo - need advice

I have had 7 stick shift cars in the past so I understand that drivetrains will normally have motion and vibration in various conditions.

2017 Camaro 2.0 turbo, 75,000 miles. While going through the gears there is a vibration AUDIBLE NOISE from the stick. It will stop if I pull back on the stick a little bit while driving. This is while driving, not in neutral. It happens 50% of the time, but not at cruise throttle. It just happens during acceleration in normal driving.

Is this normal for a 2.0 turbo camaro?

This is a car that I drove at the dealer today that I intend to buy, as long as you guys say this is a normal phenomenon. There is not another camaro within 75 miles from me that I can drive to see if it does it too.

Thank you for your advice and information

I can't add anything definitive for you about that car/transmission, but did want to mention that the Tremec in the 2.0 is the same as the one in the V6 but different from the one in the V8. In other words, any commentary regarding the V8 trims (LT1, SS, ZL1, etc.) won't be directly relevant because it's a different transmission.

Have you brought this up with the dealership? Are they a GM dealership that would have access to GM's TSB and repair databases? You could also request taking the car to a transmission specialist that you trust for them to weigh in.

It is at a Ford dealership. Thanks for the info about the V6 having the same trans and the suggestion about the trans shop opinion.

Ford dealership won't know squat about the car... Here are some additional thoughts:

- Search the VIN online. Sometimes you find additional pieces of info.
- Ask for the Carfax and review its history. If the car has been bouncing around through auctions, it's probably something to avoid as that's how the dealerships write down the values of cars they paid too much for.
- Call GM and ask if there's a file on the car and whether there is any problem history they could disclose.
- If you know someone that works at a GM dealership, you could ask them to query the VIN to see if anything comes up. See if they can get you maintenance records.

Definitely insist on an opportunity to have your private mechanic go over the car (and definitely find someone that you trust to go through it and look for potential issues).

Is it an aftermarket shifter? Sometimes the aftermarket ones don't have the isolators that go in a stock one. If it is a stock shifter, it sounds like it is either missing of has an issue with the isolators .
