I'll say that within 5 years, you will see parts discontinued and not available. Some parts, even sooner. Even on my 5th gen 1LE, there were parts that were discontinued and not available only 5-6 years after production ended.

Parts not suppliled by the aftermarket? Curious what parts you needed that you were not able to get?

Here's a couple of links to the ChevySS forums. Not much activity but the concerns seem the same, and yes parts are hard to find and have been discontinued. Perhaps some clues as to what the future holds for Camaro. Good luck to us all.

I'm not big on aftermarket stuff. The factory 1LE front splitter was not available in 2019.

I guess we’ve already seen the OEM market for discontinued parts.

Remember the dark 16-18 tail lights selling for $200-$300 back then, now the minimum is $450+ since they’re not made anymore and whoever got their hands on them are the only people with them

***This***

And I think it'll be worse for the 6th gen due to already low parts inventory and the fact that gm has all but given up on the Camaro officially.

Well if my emission equipment like my cats malfunction and parts are hard to find I just wont replace them and rip them out since I live in a state that doesn't do emission checks. I am sure if certain people read this comment gets read they will make those parts available really quick lol.

I never got one. I ended up selling the car once I figured out that getting parts was going to be a PITA.

Yep... and this is what I said on page one. If I find out getting parts for this car is going to be a PITA, I'll be selling or trading it off for something else.

Manufacturers have to ensure parts are available to meet warranties sold with the vehicles, that's it. There is no 10 yr rule or law that is a myth. So parts are likely no issue for the first 5-8 yrs. You can buy extended warranties with GM, my new one will have a 6 yr bumper to bumper warranty from GM. Some components have 8 yr warranties standard.

Then it is all about whether the after market supplies them, that is a question of profitability on those parts. Camaro's are likely one of those cars that can expect parts to be around, it has a long history as a collectors car market unlike many other passenger cars that come and go. Camaro also shares the Alpha platform with Cadillac, many parts are shared across the two, the after market is larger as a result.

GM ended the Camaro in 2002 , not revived until 2010, don't think those earlier Camaro's had issues getting parts. Lots of vintage Camaro's on the road.
