Mount locations for Garmin Catalyst/Tablets

Does anyone have any good mounting solutions? I just bought the catalyst and ideally I would like to have it directly over the infotainment. There is a 3rd party vendor that has a sweet solution for porsches, I was wondering if anyone has run into something similar for our cars.

Our windshields are so short that I feel like anything I put on the glass is going to ultimately obstruct my view. Even using all the extensions I can almost get it to overlap part of the infotainment but it's just short. My other idea was to mount it up high, almost acting like a sun visor.

For those of you who have a catalyst or something similar what have you found to be the best location?

That's a good location, but a little bit more intrusive than what I'm looking for. Not trying to drill any holes on my car like that. Maybe it's time for me to get a 3d printer and make something that hooks onto the existing infotainment system. That would be ideal, seems like it would be doable to make.

I struggled with having to drill holes, but it was the best location for me. And it's not a show car anymore either like I once pretended it was.

that's fair enough, i'm still pretending. Even though out of the 5000 miles I have on it, 1500 are from break in, about 2000 from the track and the other 1500 for driving to and from the track.

I mounted mine to the hard plastic side knee pad using the cage mount to secure it. I had previous replaced the hard plastic pad with a padded knee pad so had the hard plastic one as a spare.

I was going to get one also but I wanted a solution that will it be able to put it over the infotainment. My idea was have the catalyst on hinges that if I wanted to use the infotainment all it would take is a flip of the catalyst.

Well maybe the next project is to put the alcantara dash in and move the catalyst... It is winter and I could use a little project to feed my addiction of working on the car.

Hey carguy55. I like your Garmin Catalyst mounting solution! Do you happen to have the part number for the hard plastic knee pad? I have a 2SS, so I have the padded knee pads. If you have the # for the drivers side part #, I'm sure I can figure it out from there. I certainly don't want you to disassemble your car on my behalf.

I should have known that you could dig up the part no. Arpad! Where the heck did you find it? Gmpartsdirect and other similar sources don't list many interior bits, at least not that I could find
