Lionhart tires

I don’t believe this a tire I will choose but it has me curious. The lionhart LH FIVE
Did some research on them and they don’t seem all that bad.
Anyone ever give them a shot?
I used Bridgestone os4 on my Corvette with a fairly aggressive street alignment as the car was pulling double duty as my DD and autocross car on the weekends. The Camaro will be the same. Tires just don’t last long for me no matter what the tread wear rating

These aren't Nankangs. Nangkangs are legit autocross and track tires. Lionhart is junk sold as a budget tire by Discount Tire and other outlets. Don't do this!

So you have experience with them? just looking for opinions from someone that has actually tried them. You never know until you ask.

I've worn thru 6 sets of Nankang CR-S(CR-1) tires. Very good tire. Near Yok A052 at autocross. Does well on the street too. No issues with them in the rain(what little we get in SoCal). Nankang is a respected brand from Taiwan. Outside of the USA they work closely (share technology) with Yokohama on street and commercial tires. The NS-2R that's spec for the corvette series is their old 200tw tire that was used by a lot of drifters. And while the tires do tend to be less expensive than Yokohama/Falken/Bridgestone, they aren't cheap(construction and materials) like the Lionhart you posted.

I’m not comparing the nankang tires to the lionhart. My point was I have never heard if either brand. Yes I know they are cheap. And probably not going with them. Just curious ti see if anyone has ever used them. No one likes them but have not found anyone with first hand experience with them either

Where do you get your Nankangs in 1LE sizes?

I don't. I run 305/30-19 and 315/30-18 with the Nankangs. I wish they would make a 285/30 or 295/30 -20 so I could run them on my stock wheels.

I have the Lionhart LH-Fives on our BMW X7. I scored some OEM BMW 22” rims during the pandemic and went to buy tires and got sticker shock (over $2,000 a set). The Lionhart’s have a 30K mile warranty. My set of 275/40/22 front and 305/35/22 rear were $600. They’re quiet on the highway, handle great, do well in the rain and have held up to their 30K mile warranty. Currently at 25K miles and still have 2mm over wear bars left. Prices are up over 2 years ago but still only $700 per set.

I also ran Venom Power Terra Hunter XT off-road tires (33x12.5r20’s) on my F-150. Another Chinese brand. 50K mile warranty and another great tire. Quiet on the highway, great off-road and excellent in the rain. 30K miles so far, wearing properly and well worth the $750 per set price. Now they’re up to $900.

Just ordered my Apex 18” track wheels and I’m switching from NT-01’s (which I loved) to Nankang AR-1’s. Phil’s tire service seems to have the best price on the East coast.

Now for performance street tires….sorry, gotta be Michelins for me.

Exactly what I was looking for someone with first hand experience. Thank you.
Sounds like it could be a good option for someone out there.
I actually bought a set just to see what they where like. for no other reason than to see for myself. everyone had an opinion but no one actually tried them. So I have no idea what they where basing there opinion on. I figured fore the price If I hated them not such a big lose.
Surprisingly not to bad. ride quality from a run flat is much better. Are they the best tire out there. Not even close. I will see what the limitations are at an autocross event in the near future. I will be doing 3 runs on a set of Lionharts LH-Five and then swapping to Michelin PS4 I believe that's the tire to beat so lets just see how bad or good they are.

Is that what you meant to type? These Lionharts don't appear to be run-flats, and run-flats are notoriously harsh riding.

"Tire to beat" kind of depends on what class you're in. But in no autocross series I know of is the PS4S (which is not the same as the PS4, but the PS4 is not as good) the best tire to run...unless it's raining. It's a 300tw tire that is an honest street tire and it's nearly magic in the rain. The same is true for the Continental ExtremeContact Sport. But all autocross classes I know of allow for at least 200tw tires, and among those the Falken RT660, Yokohama A052, and possibly the Nankang CR1 and Bridgestone RE71RS are the tires to beat. They are in another league from the PS4S. Even the BFG Rival S and Falken RT615K+ are significantly faster.

However, I expect the PS4S to be significantly faster than the Lionhart unless the LH is a cheater tire that really doesn't last long and they gamed the UTQG rating (possible, but not probable). The Lionhart is an all-season tire, so I expect it doesn't really have a lot of grip above 40F compared to a "summer" tire.

All that said, I'll be interested to see your results!
