It would be nice if in Sport mode there was no pops and in Track mode it was enabled to allow us some choice.

I have found that with my 22SS 6MT if I change the engine sound to Touring the pops and crackles are quieter.

I personally love the snap, crackle and pop and the reactions from others when they hear it. Most like it. Some don't, but who cares. Some just look befuddled by it and can't figure out where it is coming from.

I haven't heard any pops or crackles for the first 400 miles and I leave the sound in Track mode and toggle between Touring and Sport driving modes. But I am easy on the throttle and never just let off the throttle after getting into it, I roll pretty easy into and out of throttle. As an example of how easy I am, AFM kicks in after 50 ft and I can spend a lot of time in V4 while driving around town (which doesn't include stop-and-go, but 30mph and 40mph thru streetlights).

I'm over 3k quite often myself. My point is if you are at 3k or more in Sport/Track mode in a manual and let off the gas the NPP will snap, crackle and Pop all day.

Exactly, the best way to get it to happen is be in second gear, step heavy on it (4000+ RPM aggressively) and then left off and it will crackle a LOT!

Sounds tinny on my ZL1/A10 with the MBRP axle back which is really a muffler delete, sounded better on my 181LE/6M with AWE touring axle back system. It's a little too high pitched now. I like this stuff but it's not suiting me too much now, looking at resonators or a resonated midpipe setup to deepen the tone.
Easy to do in this car, IF, you're in performance shift mode and left off the throttle or it's downshifting. In normal "D" drive mode there's very little of it the crackles and pops. |
