We already have E15 where I live, plus E30 and E85. I see that the new Tahoe's have E15 listed on the Window Stickers.

Does flex fuel account for this? I mean I can blend 93/e85 to my heart's content so this shouldn't be an issue right?

Will this make it a better idea to upgrade to a flex fuel kit? I would love to move to E85.

So we have a e-15 station as well, can we run that w/o any mods to fuel system?

Vehicles 2001 and newer are equipped for it, except for the part where power density is lower and fuel economy is lower. It's generally $0.30 less a gallon than E10 where I'm at, but I imagine that will change. The gov has been pushing this for a while. Biggest detriment will be to lawn equipment. They like it not so much.

"AAA, which issued its warning Friday, says just 12 million of more than 240 million cars, trucks and SUVs now in use have manufacturers' approval for E15. Flex-fuel vehicles, 2012 and newer General Motors vehicles, 2013 Fords and 2001 and later model Porsches are the exceptions, according to AAA, the nation's largest motorist group, with 53.5 million members. BMW, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota and VW have said their warranties will not cover fuel-related claims caused by E15. Ford, Honda, Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo have said E15 use will void warranties, says Darbelnet, citing potential corrosive damage to fuel lines, gaskets and other engine components." Is there any power to be gained using E15?

Because I couldn't care less. E15 ain't gonna do crap. So I don't have to ask a "technical q" because this is not even worth discussing. At best, it will simply make more fuel available and perhaps lower the cost of fuel...temporarily...until EVs show up and either walk all the ICEVs to the point that people get tired of losing and being among the slowest vehicles on the road and convert or until the price of E15 then starts to rise to where gas is and people can't afford that or the vehicles that still use gas become more and more expensive so nobody can afford them. And then it'll be just a bunch of people spending crazy money for some washed up tech just to get their doors blown off by every SUV with a full family load of people inside it that costs much less. This story is BS

E15 = 88 octane, not sure how that would affect me pumping 93 anyway? very few stations here even have E85, so not likely E15 will permeate this area at all. All fuel in NY is E10 already. |

Wouldn't most gas stations have to dedicate a tank and a pump to this anyway. Most gas stations around here are 87,89, 91 0r 93, and a dedicated tank/pump for E85. No spare nozzles for yet another option.
