Do our cars need suspension mods?
I’m on the fence of buying a few suspension goodies for my bolt on A8 SS.
I’m able to pretty consistently cut 1.61 60’s and have been 1.605 everything being stock. I’m preparing to add a converter in a few months and I’m hoping for mid 1.4s. My car cut a 1.42 60 foot with 100% stock suspension. When I did some more upgrades the car needed a cradle lockout kit to keep it from wheel hopping, the strange thing is my 60 foots aren't as fast but the overall 1/4 is!

I think you may be right, I’ll probably not end up touching the suspension unless I have traction issues after the converter install

Just wanted give a update. Ended up doing BMR upper and lower trailing arms and Upper control arms that’s it. Have the Converter as well. On the same 305/45/17 Et Street R the car now cuts 1.45-1.47s consistently when it hooks.
Best on stock converter and stock suspension on this tire was a 1.605 for me. Still just bolt ons |
