I have owned both manuals and automatics over the years. I love my current 6 speed SS. It is just a different driving experience with it. I drove it over 500 miles to Orange Beach Alabama recently, including two major bumper to bumper traffic jams in Knoxville and Chattanooga Tenn, and had no regrets. Manuals keep you more engaged and aware and entertained.

I would want it not only to shift hard at WOT but also shift firmer at part throttle also. Is this possible also with a tune. I want to FEEL every gear shift firm but not harsh at part throttle. Would a tuner that does engines be able to do this tuning or only a transmission specialist?

Is this done with min spark and vtt like you mentioned before? A family member ordered a ‘22 that’s getting here next week that we are diving right into with boltons

The 10 speed is incredible and shifts so fast it’s almost unreal, but if you are like me and just want to cruise around and enjoy shifting then go for the 6 speed. If you are planning on dragging your car then the 10 speed is a better choice.

Yes...Editing the virtual torque table in the ECU will achieve this. You add torque where you want it to shift firmer.

It seems many tuners leave this table alone and I think it's a mistake. Tuning the VTT plays a big role in how the trans shifts and engine responds to throttle input.

Every sports car I have owned has been a manual. I just prefer them. Drove manuals in horrible traffic in Japan and here in SoCal. Manual in a traffic has never bothered me. I just keep more distance between me and the car in front of me so that I can just idle it in 1st gear.

It is so hard to find a manual these days and I'm glad I was able to get my LT1 in one. Had to drive three hours to get it.

Every manual I've owned has been my DD and this one will be no different. I like to drive and I'm going to drive and shift the gears myself. I have a '18 Softail Slim that has 30k miles on it, for two years it was my daily after I sold my Subaru BRZ M6 with 100k miles on it, which was my DD at the time.

Just can't do the autos, my wife has a Telluride and it's an auto, I detest driving it.

I prefer autos anymore. had a beretta, several evolutions and an eclipse turbo that were stick and loved them but as I have aged, it is so much easier to drive an automatic in stop and go traffic than rowing the gears.

having a good auto tho is key. my genesis coupe was right at 400hp but the 8sp auto in it was pure garbage compared to the a10....

My first car I bought back in high school was my Z28, once I learned how to drive and properly shift I was hooked. Raced a guys SS 4L**auto at the time and beat him by a length every time. The one about to be built in my SIG is a manual as well. I did test drive a 2021 2SS A10 and I absolutely HATED it.

Are the A10's faster? They should be, but I'm just partial to manuals. They handle extra power well, weigh less, less fluid to change, easier to change the fluid, less parasitic loss etc. etc. If it's your DD in heavy traffic an A10 is way more practical and will still ride the fvck out, especially if tuned and stalled. What I really didn't like about the A10 was it just felt like a big pull, no torque kick like the MN6, that was a HUGE turn off for me, I do like the A8's could feel the torque kick more. I'm just partial to manuals, plain and simple.

Can’t go wrong with either. If you go manual, you may wish at times, you didn’t have to shift. If A10, you at times will crave a manual. I’ve only driven manuals but have an A10 now. If it wasn’t so good, I’d miss the manual.

I go manual all the way. I own 4 cars and 1 motorcycle, all manual. I find it drives significantly better overall and furthermore between the car and myself, only one of us knows what I'm about to do and that's me so I end up shifting better. As a daily driver I have never been bothered and I don't understand why some people find it so annoying.

Honestly the people I meet in passing who notice the stick in my car seem to have a stick of their own somewhere else... their complaints about it seem like jealousy more than anything. I hear "it's just so much to deal with in traffic" so many times I've learned to anticipate the frown I am about to get when I don't enthusiastically agree.

I think it has to do with your leg muscles and the car you have.

For a car like the winter daily Mazda3 I drive now with a 5-speed, the clutch is pretty light and therefore not too taxing on my left leg. A Camaro or really, many sports cars have a firmer clutch that will be more work for your left leg to modulate well.

Don't skip leg days, I suppose, though I get why people skip it.

I've always preferred manuals but after reading the reviews on the A-10, I bought an automatic and couldnt be happier. Racing it on a road course frees up mental resources that are of better use to driving. At a drag strip, an auto is a no brainer. My personal best is an 11.2 @ 124mph and the car is a 1LE that isnt supposedly as fast in the 1/4. Overall, IMO the A-10 is so far superior to the 6 spd at keeping the car in the powerband, its not even close. I MIGHT reconsider if they offered a manual dual clutch in an 8 speed.

What do you mean by manual dual clutch? Do you mean a DCT with paddle shifters like PDK?

Having owned a C7 for a short period, I honestly didn't like the 7-speed as much as the 6-speed in the Camaro. Now if you are talking about an 8-speed manual, then that idea won't fly. Driveability aside, manuals don't really see much R&D nowadays as everything moved to autonomous driving.
