2021 ZL1 Convertible Accessories - Must Buy List

OK - we are picking up our ZL1 convertible next week.

What are the must buy accessories?

My wife keeps talking about a wind blocker.

A car cover.

I already bought jacking pucks.

Thanks,
D.

Agree with your wife, if I had a convertible, the first thing I'd buy is the windscreen.

If you are buying a windscreen, buy one from King Penn Wind Restrictors - my wife and I have twin 2020 Camaro Convertibles - I have the 2SS and she has the 2LT/RS - we have one for each car. Almost the same price as the Chevy OWN one with a little more class - and they are one of our Vendors.

Put on with double-sided tape and easy to remove the restrictor w/ Wingnuts if needed. It goes without saying no one is in the Backseat - but for us only the Bijon sits back there anyway. I would take a pic of ours, but we just put them in this weekend - power was easy as well...the customization is nice touch as well...we are happy with them...
I have the High Def Rear View Camera in the Mirror - she does not - so I bought her a controller to turn it off when she is driving at night to make it easier to see through...

#1 above all else: Paint Protection Film.

I don't have a windscreen, and don't need it IMO. Wife agrees it's less windy/wind-noisy inside the ZL1 cabin than her Solara vert at all speeds.

I was gonna recommend too. But if I recall I think the OP was not a fan of the stuff. I could be wrong and if I am then I would also highly recommend PPF. Especially with black.

Some type of storage pocket \ net(s) that can be Velcro’d to the rug near your leg (even if you have to buy something and modify to suit your needs). The glove box (tiny) the center storage cubby ( tiny hard to reach into while seated), is and charging pad is almost useless because it’s behind you and the cubby.

A good radar, dash cam, phone mount, wrap around glasses (aviator style sunglasses), sun visor extension (the sun visor that comes with the car is useless, other than to annoy you with the microscopic non covered mirror.

A foldable dusting wand, the interior black bits show dust and pollen big time.

Keep the plastic seat covers and steering wheel protector for future service work.

Disposable hand wipes...With the steering wheel being microsuede, I keep them as a “just in case”... IE I dropped my phone or keys in the dirt, went out to eat and didn’t wash hands before leaving.

Yup, here's what I did on both the driver and the passenger side. $10 for the nets, $5 for proper velcros after discarding the included pathetic dual sided tape, and that's it. Perfect adhesion, easy to slide the phone in and out of, has a distinct supercar feel

I'm sure wife will appreciate the hockey pucks. No need for the wind screen. (Not)

Passing on paint protection. Getting paint correction and ceramic.

Sorting thru windscreen options. Wish the GM didn’t say Camaro on it.

Thanks,
D.

DDivinia:

Congrats to you and your wife on your new family member - well chosen!

The mods to my 2017 ZL1 Vert M6 so far and if they apply to your 2021 model - Y=Yes, M=Maybe, N=No:

that website lists installation time as "under 1 hour". It should only take a few minutes, right?

More like seconds, maybe 30 if you take your time.

I got that and the illuminated bowtie.
