I like the 300ZX-style rear tails and am happy they kept the manual. Would I trade in for one, unlikely, because I like Alpha platform over FM and I doubt Nissan throws money in R&D like GM does.

I’ll test drive it when the hype has died down.

For sure a car I'd have to see in person. I didn't like the Supra but everyday it seems to grow on me and I've seen some seriously nice specs/kits on them.

The specs are pretty good from the looks of it. 400 hp and 3200 lbs. I think it could be compete nicely with an SS. Since it has twin turbos a small tune could really wake it up. I feel there is a lot of potential in this car.

A neighbor has a Q60S that he put headers and aftermarket exhaust on and tuned it. Car is pretty quick, but his lease is up later this year. He's going to be getting the 400Z because it's lighter than the Q60S and has more base power at a good chunk lower cost. He had a 350Z that he did an LS-Swap with... Will be interesting to see what comes of the 400Z when he gets it.

Here’s some production 400z leaks. It’s also been leaked the 400z will have 444 horsepower and a NISMO version with 475 horsepower.

I would take a SS, Scatpack or Mustang GT over this 400z. Even though this will be faster than the 370z it still likely wont be running 12 second quarter miles or 0-60 in 3.9 or 4 seconds like our current 6th generations

I guess a better comparison will be the SS 1LE and if that's the case it's a no brainer to go with the 1LE.

I don't think most on this forum would go for this car anyway. I thought about a 370z when I was looking to upgrade last Sept, BUT I realized coming from the Coyote engine I'd be pissed because the 370z would be slow as ballz compared to the 5.0, almost a second slower quarter mile.

if the cars really make 450+ hp, they will be quicker and faster than the na v8 camaros. example: supra.

Probably using a tuned motor from a infinity q60 redsport. It has 400hp and 350lbs tq. Add a tune and can get 450 easily.

News is probably true as this is motor already in production. 3.0TT.

If the Nissan Z (400Z) does indeed have 444 horsepower and a dry weight of 3,252lb, it will be at least as fast as the Mustang GT, Camaro SS, and Challenger Scat Pack. The weight is very believable as the Z is not moving to a new platform. It will be using a heavily modified version of the 370Z platform. The VR30DDTT has also been out for some time as well with 400hp. It’s not a stretch to believe the power being boosted (literally, fugitively) to 444hp.

444hp and 3300 lbs. Tempting.

But hasn't the 370 done poorly on the lightning lap handling wise? I know, magazine racing.

I have also heard about some critism over 370Z"s handling.
