FYI...I emailed Tremec today about the fill procedure using their HP MTF and they stated that you just fill the transmission full to fill hole & close it up. No need to drain 8 oz out like with other fluids.

Correct. And the same thing I was told last year. The Tremec fluid isn't ATF, so it doesn't suffer from the expansion properties of ATF when it's hot.

Wish I knew that when they filled mine 2 months ago, I assume I'm good but let me know if we should top it off.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to top her off. If you want to be certain, I would email TREMEC

Link to gallon jug of Amsoil fluid for the trans - https://www.amsoil.com/p/signature-s...?code=ATF1G-EA

The transmission takes 4 quarts, so this gallon jug is perfect.

Thanks, at least that will be easy. Just add some until it drips over, wait until it stops and re-insert plug.

Wonder if its the same for Royal Purple? Its tough to guess that level just right. I actually filled to the filler then let out just a tiny bit.

No problems with RP and letting it drain out the fill hole per Tremec instructions. This was over a year ago.

RP sucks especially in the cold and on start ups once warmed up it seemed like factory saw no improvement Tremec did say an oil like that is usually better for racing if your pushing high temps and beating on it! I was looking for something to help cold shifts and 5th and 6 gear changes at 150 mph plus.

QUESTION?

Anyone noticed shifting problems at high speeds it seems like going from 4th to 5th at 150 something it doesn't want to go into gear easily and even down to 6th. IF I let some speed fall it goes in easy but whats the point in that if your racing? I haven't tried no lift shift kinda of scared with my power level I screwed up not checking this out during warranty it was doing before I was modded I even noticed the same on my 5th gen.

I called Tremec the ole (never heard of this) and they said there are carbon fiber rings available usually they see these problems in lower gears and they also recommend a Mobil 1 fluid although they said to use gm stuff since that's what the manufacture recommends it lol.

I contacted a shop Tremec recommends this place (Bowler Performance Transmissions Inc) here is the quote..

RP sucks in the cold? Really? I have it mine. Works way better in the cold than the stock fluid.

In temps below 50, my M6 was notchy and sticky before I put in Synchromax. I drove it to work 3 days ago when it was 38 out. Worked great.

Is this comment from personal experience? Or just something you read?

I changed to RP specifically to cure the cold shifting notchiness and it has nearly been eliminated. I've had maybe 1 or 2 balky shifts since changing the fluid almost a year ago.
