Is this whirring sound from the engine normal?
Hey guys, my engine is making a noise I am unfamiliar with. Sounds almost like a whirring/whistling. It speeds up/gets faster with the engine speed. It's very noticeable from where I am standing in the video. It's noticeable in the car as well when I have the engine around 2500-3000 RPM (at least, I think it's the same noise). Can you let me know if it's normal? In the first video I kind of do a sound to help identify it as the engine is running, and the second video is a better imitation of it.
I've posted this on a few pages/forums to get more input. A majority of the input says it's normal, but a few people say theirs does not make this noise. Car has 3400 miles on it, still runs like a bat out of hell. Sounds like it might be a pulley/bearing being worn out or something? Or maybe it's normal. Doesn't sound normal though; if it isn't I'm taking it in. |

Gotcha. Thanks for the input. Yeah I'm not sure what would cause this sound. I've been told everything from "it's from the direct-injection system" to "it's not normal at all" so honestly, I don't really think anyone knows what it is lol.
