LED Headlmps from Morimoto

Has anyone on here installed these on their gen 6? Contemplating on getting a set but I'm curious if the DRLs match the brightness of the lower DRLs on the 2SS.

Why would you want those? They are mainly the same that you already have. If you had a non-RS base model I'd say it is worth it, but yours already has the LED strip and bi-xenon.

Its a bit different. that orange ZL1 has a video on youtude showcasing the differences. The seller website has 1 review with some gripes but I'm not sure if its just an isolated issue.

Usually aftermarket complete lights are cheaply made unless you spend big money on them.

They're indeed different, full LED, and have physically separate low and high beams in a 2+2 arrangement (OEM is a single projector HID with a mechanically actuated shutter for low beam "mode"). Haven't seen these in person, but if someone likes a little shakeup of the front and has the money, I don't see why not.

The retrofit source and Morimoto are no joke, they make high quality products. The biggest question is are they worth the $1100 in light output over stock, otherwise it's an expensive purchase just for looks.

I agree with Vaska. I personally wouldn't change mine over but I have used retrofit source and Morimoto products in the past (Dodge and Audi) and was extremely impressed by the quality and customer service.

Pretty much, I'm sure they also sell a kit to replace the xenons with better bulbs, so it'd be more than $1100 for looks and arguably better lighting, carbon fiber side skirts are like $850 for purely looks

I've had mine for about 8 months now. They're much brighter than the stock HIDs. I'm a fan!

Have you noticed any issue with the brightness matching the SS DRLs in the bottom. Well if you had it before you nodded them away.

I never got to compare them. I know a few guys who have them on instagram that you can ask. @blackpanthercamaro @thehiddenpath1 @hammerdown_motorsports_usa @kevz_ss

Hello,

First of all welcome everybody as this is my 1st post.

I recently got myself a 2017 SS convertible and was thinking about getting it a Morimoto set of LED lamps (front and rear).
From the previous discussion I gather that there is a significant improvement with the headlight luminosity over stock HIDs.

Question is how simple or difficult the installation is.
Does it require to program new lamps into car's central computer (as nowadays everything has electronics inside that needs to be synced) or is it just an easy plug&play switch without having to do that?

How was it in your case Brando?
