1LE Wheels Ceramic/Sealant?
I'm getting ready to put my 1LE wheels/summer tires back on and I'm seriously considering first doing a ceramic coating or sealant to make my wheels easier to clean.
I'm overwhelmed with all the different products. I'm looking for something I can apply on my own that is cost effective. I searched on the forum but there seems to constantly be newer/better products. Any recommendations? |

I used the turtle wax ceramic spray. It's economical. I paid $14.99 for a bottle. Did all wheels and my car! Very easy to use also. I was amazed at this product. Smells good to.

The 1LE wheels are basically a satin black finish right? If so, I had my wheels powder coated satin black, and a big detailing shop here in Michigan recommend F11 Top Coat. Apparently it's good on matte/satin type finishes. I'm happy with it. Created a very slick surface

You need to actually put on a Silicon/ceramic that will stand up to a little bit of the road debris. Those are the true ceramics like Cquartz, G technic, adams, and others that will chime in here. The sprays aren’t strong enough for Wheels. Just my opinion.
If you want something that you do monthly or bimonthly that will do 95% of the job, see the link in my signature. |

I used the wheel sealent product through Chemical Guys its a green paste like product, absolutley the best, just a rinse with a hose and the dust falls off and its easy to apply and lasts forever, I have it on my 2019 1le wheels and love it

I would recommend Wheel Coating, that being said if you do a Ceramic Spray Coating it's so easy to do that you could re apply every couple months.

Adams wheel coating here. Holding up great as I did the wheels back in the spring of 2018. I did the barrels and calipers last summer before a track day

I used the Adam's Ceramic Wheel Coating and I found it easy to use. I love the way the water beads up. And the shine is amazing!

I also used the Adam's Ceramic Wheel Coating. It did darken and add some shine to my satin black wheels. I still wipe them down just the same as my uncoated stockers, but I'd say it's easier, especially in corners. I use a light mist of the ceramic boost that came with the kit when cleaning and I love the results. Cost effective...eh maybe not, but I did do two coats on the face and one for the barrels and have 1/2 a bottle left.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I'm still debating what I'm going to do. I might try some Seal N Shine and see how that lasts (since I already have some and love it on the paint). If I'm not happy with that I will give a true ceramic a try, which will involve a deep cleaning and some claying. The Adam's UV coating looking interesting but it's almost double the price.

i did gtechniq on mine, last april/10k miles ago. car has 17k on it now and the wheels still look new. the only thing is you must get them dry or they will definitely look like poo after a wash. i try to let the car sit at least 2 hours before driving after the leaf blower treatment.
