From a doctor the wife works with at the hospital: “You’re going to see a mega-surge in the number of CASES simply because of the number of tests being administered and, the fact that results now only take hours, not days. But 99% will survive.”

It is times like these that I am glad I choose Accounting/Finance as a career. While not the most glamorous and EVERYBODY is replaceable, being in Accounting is about as recession proof as you can get.

Aviation and cars help balance out the mundane work of working with numbers and spreadsheets all day.

I am very grateful to still be working and with most systems cloud based these days, it makes working at home not very difficult.

Not in Indiana. They test for the flu then if that comes back negative the sample is sent to be tested for clovid19. It takes around 3 days

So only a little over 3 million dead in the country or the equivalent to the entire population of Kansas and a few more.

I don't want to get too political here, but this has been the neoliberal playbook for 40 years now.

I am not here to grandstand for President Trump, but he has said on at least a dozen occasions that one death from COVID-19 was one too many and that is why we see people working around the clock in an attempt to defeat this illness.

It is a shame that this has become so politicized. On top of the virus having a mortality rate of ~1.4%, now we have to deal with people getting into senseless political battles.

In order to avoid and spread COVID-19, take the same precautions that we do every year during Flu season:
Wash your hands multiple times per day.
Avoid large crowds if at all possible.
Avoid being in contact with the elderly and individuals that are predisposed to illness.

Stay at home starts at 5 today. For the unforeseen future I'll be working 5 of 10 days. In other words, half pay. Designated as 'essential'. Time to wash my hands.

Your math and assumption is the ENTIRE US population gets it, and 1% dies. Right now only .00709% of the US population is infected. (as of 3/26/20)

I just noticed someone here contracted the virus and I wish said person a speedy recovery and hope he gets well soon.

This virus sucks, and I don't see it slowing down in places like Italy. Only China is claiming to have had a miraculous recovery from the virus which few believe.
