LT4s built in Bowling Green?

I understand the Z06's LT4s are all built at the Bowling Green Performance Build Center.

Is this true for LT4s that end up in ZL1s as well? Or are those done at Tonawanda like the LT1s?

Nevermind--should have searched first. A quick googling reveals ZL1 and CTSV motors built at Tonawanda.

Correct. Also there was no owner's hand-build option for ZL1 LT4's like there was for C7 Z06.

There's some threads on Corvette Forum where the builders at PBC actually chime in. Even though they "hand build" there it is still a heavily automated process. E.g. they have the same machine to torque all the head bolts simultaneously. The two facilities share info back and forth as you'd expect.

So after that and the above video I came away with the impression that the "hand build" is just a way to extract more $$ from the Z06 buyers.

I bet Ford was wishing they could say the same about their GT350 motor that is hand built by two guys.
