D1X think they said stage2 IC but looked like the race one to me. They even took the hpfp and injectors off and replaced em with new ones from the box to prove they were LT4 stuff and then made 957 ..lol beats me

Just saw that...holy crap...!

Edit: thinking about this some more, I’m assuming that the 95 octane they were running is 0% ethanol, so that coupled with the higher octane would definitely let them stretch that fuel system as far as possible. 957 RWHP on LT4 fueling is still far more than what many experts had told us was possible before running out of fuel though. Crazy...

I saw this too and was interested...

Maybe it's because they can run enough timing?... That seemed like a whole lot considering what almost everyone else says is possible, but the rules clearly stated no meth and such. Ron's comment about tuners made me chuckle a bit, ha.

All 3 were ran on VP C9 race fuel(95 octane). Combine that with lower compression forged pistons and a bigger lobe cam maybe? The thing is even at high DA the track times doesn't suggest the power is anywhere near 950whp imo.

139 mph is more like a mid 700 rwhp car not mid 900.

I've got around the 830 mark on low boost right now and I've run 145 in shitty air so, well who knows. I ran about that 139 to 140 in the 700 plus range.

Obviously 5000 ft is a challenge but should have been easy 9s at mid 140s at 950 at the wheels. I went 9.65 on way less hp at 3000 ft. and 85 degrees plus

Yeah you would think it would be deep into the 9s with all that hp. Maybe Vengeance will chime in with more details. I think the Ford and Dodge boys could of used some better representation seems those shops were covered before it started.

My guess is that at the drag strip they dialed back the HP to make sure they could hook and win. They didn't need to run the fastest time the car had in it under perfect conditions and tune - they just needed to beat the other two cars. Ron at V admitted as much for the autocross (took about 200-250 HP out of the tune). Knowing Ron and Mike at V - they turned it up with all they could get to win the dyno challenge. Remember the dyno challenge was last - so I say they went for the win or were willing to blow it up trying.

Well that trap speed kind of matches up with how much power everyone has been told or found out that the LT4 fuel system maxes at.

If turning it back was the case that should have been mentioned and would have resolved the a few of our questions as to why at 950 we were seeing such slow ets and mph. It was mentioned that the track was in good shape so I'm sure it was prepped properly but heat and DA can make the track greasy for sure and some timing may have needed to be pulled out down low on the launch to get them to hook. Been there and done that many times.
