When I was 20 I had a show car 500whp turbo civic, 6 additional gauges, custom interior, the whole 9. While ridiculous now, it really made the car feel special when you were driving it. Interior adds a lot to the experience, especially with a sports car. I believe the popular term is “sense of occassion” Not saying the supra is better at all, just that it’s probably more important than you realize. Both the camaro 1le and the supra are not practical cars, they are cars you drive to have a good time. |

In regards to the 1/4 mile and instrumented tests are concerned to compare the 16+ Camaro SS Auto and 18+ Mustang GT Auto it's a bit early for that I would say not enough testing done on the A90 Supra yet. However the fact that the early tests are looking better than expected ..... 12.3 at 113 is right around what early tests on my SS 8pd auto were ending up so not far off. Once I got a hold of my SS 8spd auto I was able to trap 117 running a 12.0 bone stock and honestly I think I'll end up really close to that with the A90 Supra ... before the modding begins anyway lol. Also one thing to remember is that the A90 stock is tuned for a very broad torque curve hp is pretty much capped up top ... I blame this for some of the higher speed performance findings and also this car has more down force than people realize from the factory which contributes to it's Great handling (1.07 G !!!) but hurts some regarding higher speeds. -Jon

339hp / 427lb-ft at the wheels!
I thought it might be even more, but the engine is probably making that much hp/tq across a range of rpms and not just at one point.... edit: graph is kinda shown in the vid, it is making peak hp from somewhere in the middle of the rev range until redline. |

The torque numbers might be just a bit inflated but still very high as they stated the torque converter wouldn't lock until high rpm ... but that also means easy power increase just getting the converter to lock sooner in the rev range . I know some people still won't admit it but its getting harder to ignore this car impressing more and more each day it seems. -Jon

I wish they'd show the torque/power curves. I can't imagine this is making 485 ft-lbs at the crank. I'm guessing it is an outlier and is actually a random false peak/spike that should have been eliminated. 120 ft-lbs more torque than rated? Nah. I believe the 339 rwhp (~385 crank hp), just based on the 113 mph trap speed in the 1/4 mile and the weight.

I believe there was a foot note in there somewhere that said the torque number got inflated because the torque converter wasn't locked up
