zl1 road course setup
has anyone ran a 295 front and 325 rear on their 5th gen zl1?
I'm curious to know if it will fit with 19" wheels. also what tire does everyone use for a dedicated track tires (never gonna see a road) |

I really like the Goodyear Supercar 3 used on the Gen6. I have the standard tires but they have stood up to lots of heat cycles. GY also have an R compound version for the newer ZL1 1LE which has the 19" wheels similar to the Gen5 z28.

325/30-19 is also available Tirerack shows the available sizes (click on the Sizes tab) https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...F1+Supercar+3R I haven't tried these yet but I will. I really liked the Goodyear F1 Supercar G:2 that came on the 1LE for it's intended purpose, so I imagine I'll like the 3R even more.

305/30-19 is shorter than stock so it can lower the car a bit, and final drive will be shorter if using that size in the rear. Others have run the same sizes, and some have 325 in the rear I think. Rear fitment is easier than the front due to suspension clearance in the front - worse case you need spacers, but then you get more poke. For me I'd prefer to run square setup for handling balance.

I haven't run a square setup before but it already handles like a dream with my 295/315 combo I'm running. I am however on bmr lowering springs if that will effect fitment at all. just trying to get all the info I can before I order wheels to get the right spec. |

They do not fit without spacers with my Ridetech HQ coilovers - which have a pretty normal 2.5" internal diameter spring set up. Also depends on where the spring perch is at relative to the wheel. I haven't test fit yet with my MCS suspension set up, but I think it will fit without spacers since they are using 2.0" ID springs in this case. I was looking for the widest setup, with the least poke. Not sure I found it, but I'm marching on with it.
