TPMS question

Bought used 2016 2SS. The car came with after market rims, TPMS is not working for any of the tires. I bought a tool to see if I could pair the modules, in the meantime is there any way to check if the modules are installed in the tires without taking them apart?

Thank you.

Thank you.
you can look at the valve stems. most tpms valve stems are hard or metal instead of your plain ole rubber valve stems.

however that won't be a tale-tell, some aftermarket rims came with high pressure valve stems, which would negate the previous check.

really the only way is to look at the inside to be sure.

TPMS question

Most likely the previous owner didn’t have the sensors removed from the original wheels and put into the aftermarket. If you have the pairing tool and nothing is registering that’s most likely the case. I’d contact the seller, if you purchased privately, to inquire if they may have the sensors.

If not, hop over to eBay and pickup some. You’ll need the 433Mhz GM sensors. If you aren’t a stickler for brand, you can source a set of new sensors for $80. I have some in my winter wheels that work fine.

Thank you for the replies. Can't contact the seller, but that is exactly what I am thinking. Would these work?
