ZL1 A10 dreamin
Hello everybody, so cal member looking to get the 18' ZL1 A10 or 1LE. Someone on the ZL1 section mentioned buying out of state then transferring back to CA is going save me thousands. Anyone heard of this being the case? Thanks!
I made an offer on a CPO 2018 1LE with 4k on the clock, dealer wouldnt sell for my offer. Hopefully soon though! |

I live in North Dakota, bought my Camaro in Minnesota. I registered the car in North Dakota rather than where I bought the car and it saved me a few hundred dollars due to North Dakota having a lower tax rate.
Welcome by the way!

You have to pay sales tax for where it will be registered. If you live in Cali you will pay their fees when you put a plate on it. Unless they have some sort of exception. Some states have non standard rules. No tax on private party purchase etc. I buy cars all over the country but live in ga and have to register them where I live so same tax rate always apply. Only savings he will get is if the market in another location has better deals. Even new dealers have to run the owners address for rebates. So if he lives in Cali but buys from Texas where their rebate are better due to different region he will not get that rebate. He will get the ones that apply to his home state. Hope that clarifies a bit.

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!
