Sales numbers in Europe (since 2014 on).
Hi there!,
I've found an interesting sales chart of the Camaro models here in Europe: the link will provide you sales numbers starting from 2014 on. Here is the chart page: http://carsalesbase.com/european-car...vrolet-camaro/ Just remember that the 6th Generation Camaro has started deliveries here in Europe since late November 2016, so all the numbers you see allocated on previous months/years are referred to the last 2014-2016 5th Generation cars. See you!!, Eos |

Very.
In Hungary, where I'm from originally, the 2SS sells for the equivalent of $58-60k new. One also needs to factor in way higher maintenance costs and gas prices that are several times higher than here in the US (but then the lowest octane rating you can get is 95, go figure). |

I'm assuming a bunch of this cost is for shipping

While in Belgium camaro’s are still somewhat ‘affordable’, around 40k for the 2.0 and 50k for the V8, it’s the taxes that makes it almost impossible to drive the V8 here.

The problem in Spain is that you have to buy the car in another EU country, like FR, GE, IT, LX... If you decide to do it, there´s another slap with the registration taxes: 14,75% from the MSRP. So if you buy a F/E V8 in Germany (about 55000€), you have to pay in Spain aprox 8200€ more to drive it (plus the transport from GE to ES, 900-1000€).
Too, the gas prices in Spain are higher than in the US: 1,25€/liter for 95 RON (91 US) or 1,38€/liter for 98 RON (93 US).

Positive : it has some exclusivity to it what you can't say for a medium spec'd 3 series BMW for the same price
Negative : hope GM doesn't stop selling them through official channels by the time I'm ready for a 7th gen |

In December 2016 I bought a UK Spec SS (though it's not badged as SS here in Europe). It cost £40,000 on the road including taxes. The annual road tax at £525 is top end but well worth it for such a fantastic car.
In some parts of Europe the sales taxes and annual road tax are exorbitant.

Not really, if compared to the value for money you get instead of a similarly equipped Audi A5 Coupé or BMW 4 Series. The real problem in Italy is the crazy taxation and the fuel cost (about 1.55 EUR per liter at the moment), if compared to the US.
Let's make a couple of examples for the 2.0 Turbo (2LT RS equivalent) and V8 (2SS equivalent) here in Italy: Camaro 2.0 Turbo Automatic Coupé List price: about 43,000.00 EUR, including 22% VAT Registration costs: 924.00 EUR Annual ownership tax: 653,00 EUR Annual luxury tax: 340,00 EUR Camaro V8 Manual Coupé List price: about 53,000.00 EUR, including 22% VAT Registration costs: 1,524.00 EUR Annual ownership tax: 1,160.00 Annual luxury tax: 2,960.00 EUR Now.. see for yourself the reason why big engines/powers are not so welcome here! And you still have to add insurance costs, too. See you!!, Eos |

To be fair, mine was one of the first with the USD to GBP pricing fixed prior to the vote for the UK to leave the EU which caused the pound to plummet.

The ZL1 around 129000US$ and we have only around 15 official GM dealer.

But you have to add a few details:
EU V8s are always a 2SS with navigation and you get MR+NPP for 2.000€ on top. I pay for my new EU V8 with MR+NPP about 51,000€ in Germany, that's about $63,000. But there's 19% tax included, so the base price would be 42,857€ which is $53,168. If I build the same car on chevrolet.com I get a Net price of about $47,000. So of course the car is more expensive here in Germany, but I don't think it is an insane amount with in mind that every car here is quite more expensive than in the US market. A Golf R (2.0l 4 cylinder turbo with 300hp) is about the same price as the V8 Camaro. |
