Learned how important the launch is on our cars last night

Went to Palm Beach International Raceway last night. Weather was 81-82 degrees with lots of humidity. There was a car just like mine except he had a 1SS versus my 2SS, he had the NPP versus my standard exhaust and I weighted substantially more. I also had the rotofab intake. He launched the "Pray Way" by just matting the gas. He was just able to hook with high 1.70s to low 1.80s 60 foot times. I watched one of his runs and you could see how the car squatted. It looked really good. I tried to replicate what he did but just spun. He trapped 3 mph more than me every time. He was running mid 114s and I was mid 111s. I assume he will post his times. I need to learn how to do a burn out and launch.

It was me.

Wish I had footage from outside the car.

Only have internal go pro side view footage.

Nice to meet you there.

I won’t be back till the weather is good.

I won’t have anything done to the car till parts show up.

So when it drops into the 50s In January I’ll be looking for -DA and then I’ll go back out.

Unless I get the itch. I wanted to try paddle shifting and also the brake to 2K then split second roll and then mash it technique. But the track turned to shit. Cut a 2.4 60ft and left.

I think i may hit the West Palm Raceway over there in a few weeks. Sounds like a nice 1/4 mile strip. Ill be staying out in Ft. Lauderdale and driving out there with my Camaro from NY. Should be a blast, at least when i arrive there....

Track is usually prepped bad. But it was great that night.

They can open late and make you wait around.

The "PRAY way". LOL. There is such a thing as a driver mod. But if the track isn't there then there is just nothing our can do. Even my way is trial and error to match the track. You will get it all locked down.

PB for me was the "Pray way". I got it right the first time and then couldn't duplicate - just spun a ton, but I think the track was starting to go south.

jw0287, awesome 60' at 1.788 - looks like that's #3 on the 1/4 mile list.
