anyone else regret it?

The other day I thought letting my 25 year old daughter drive my ZL1 couldn't hurt. Of course I was with her and thought I was in control of her normal driving habits. Well as usual I had bad judgement thinking that I would be able to let my kid have some excitement driving the car that only I drive and she approached a curb and rashed my front spoiler.
I am so mad at myself but also at her for not being observant to the road where you can see where other cars have scrapped.

Anyone else had similar things like this happen?
and what did you do to get over it?

Haven’t had any issues with my cars because my daughters can’t drive, but they’ve damaged my iPads, MacBooks, etc. you have to remember it’s just stuff, it can be repaired or replaced.

I guess it hurts so much because she just shrugged and said OOPS and smiled!
How can I get mad when she looks at me like that.
And I just got the car finished.
The ZL1-1LE front spoiler is not easy to replace.

You’d have a heart atttack seeing my front spoiler

I preemptively did buy an extra one, as well as the rubberish parts under it, in anticipation of having to replace them one day. But today is not that day!!!

Eh, time with the kids can’t be replaced but a car part can. I wouldn’t get too worked up over it. Gotta keep it all in perspective. That said, still sucks lol…

OP, pretty sure your splitter is just like mine. It can be installed in less than an hour. Yours even faster as yours will just be replaced. Will use same mounting holes. I am sure you will have it looking new in no time.

Your not going to replace a ZL1/1LE front splitter that quick it wraps around the front and clips under the front grill And then the winglets clip into the facia on the sides. The clips are a real pain in the BUTT to get loose
I will most likely need to take off the front facia to do it right.

Sorry that happened, it could have been worse... I think you have three options.

1. Remove and deliver to a body shop to sand, fill, prime and paint...
2. You can remove, sand, fill, and wrap with some matte black or similar vinyl...
3. You can replace with an OEM or upgraded CF replacement.

Food for thought.

4th option- Leave it there. Memories of a moment in life closely connected with your daughter. Savor those moments, even if they, in the moment, hurt. Longer term, you will see/view them differently than you do now. BTDT.

I'm super anal about my car, but it is underneath where you can't see it, get some matching paint and touch it up...

The ONLY other person to drive my SS in our Family is my youngest daughter (now 21, but was like 18 when she first drove it)... She is a really good driver and I was on her like a hawk, but she listened and I left ALL the nannies on, but we'd come around a corner and once straight I'd be like "FLOOR IT!!!", I did give her a brief previously, if the car starts to even remotely do something that feels weird or you don't like, get off the gas NOW!... She had a couple pretty good pulls in it with an accompanying shit eating grin & giggle on the deceleration to prove she was having fun... That was worth the $50k+ right there...

My wife will NOT drive the car, she is convinced that if she is in the left seat and a bird shit on it, it would be her fault and she would NEVER hear the end of it... (She's not wrong... She SHOULD have seen that damn bird and told it NOT to shit!!! W.T.F.!!!!)

My lady won’t drive mine either. It’s safer for our relationship that way!

It’s a F-in car,if my kid’s showed the slightest interest in the car I would be happy so suck it up and be happy she wanted to drive it.
