Problems with BCM6 Fuse after starlights

Hey Guys, first post on here! I recently installed some star lights on the headliner of my Camaro. I tapped from my radio but when I put my car back together I realized my Visor Lights, Cab lights, and my reverse lights no longer work. I came to this site to realize the BCM 6 fuse was probably blown (which it was) and now every time I add A new one it blows immediately. Anybody have a guess as to what it might be? Thanks in advance guys.

Hi Isaac, pardon me if I'm stating the obvious, but how much current does your new starlight setup in the headliner pull? The radio connection you tapped may well be already close to the capacity of its fuse, and the load you added may have pushed it across the threshold.

How about tapping a different circuit, one with a bigger fuse to begin with? On that note, I wouldn't simply replace the fuse you see blowing with a bigger one, because then you'll probably lose the protection on that circuit altogether.

It pulls 16W, I've tried untapping the lights and retrying a 10A fuse in the BCM6 and while it didn't blow my lights still would not work. But I will try that for sure tomorrow and get back with you. Thank you so much.

Some components that are controlled by the bcm end up with the bcm turning that circuit off until the bcm codes are cleared.

You tapped the wrong circuit. For accessories, your best bet is the power socket in the center console.

Tap into the 12V like I did.
