Canada ashes
If you live up here in the Midwest or Eastcoast you know about the fire burning up in Canada. But I would like to know if the smoke has ash in it and when it settles on our Camaros. Will the acid from the ash grind into the paint?

It's bad here in WI too. They are advising not to even spend time outside. I don't think there is any concern with it doing anything to your auto. Now your lungs might be a different story.

A week or so ago, it was very bad here in NY, Camaro is in the garage, but my truck and other vehicles outside, they did get covered in a sooty ash. it all rinsed off, no issues or harm to the finish at all. Just an annoyance, no harm. As stated, more likely to hurt YOU, not the car.

Uh, yeah ash is not harmful if it's dry. (Google it if you want), Moist or wet and left on the car, bad. Keep it washed off and keep the ashes from staying on wet. Good luck.

I don't get it , Canada is cold and baried in snow for months , melts then green so what burns . Poor forest management.
Here in the Arizona desert we had a very wet winter , spring bloom of everything, now all that dried up and a purfact resipe for fires. There is a couple burning now ,they started from human activity. Construction sites to dragging trailer chains, to Cigarette butt . The thunder lightening monsoons haven't started yet. Hope the best for Canada and all of us as our areas have different threats.

Early June was really bad here for about two days. Not much of an issue, but I did notice an extra layer of dirty film on the car, although we were also going through a dry spell and the pollen was up as well so that may have been part of it.

The haze is strong and heavy here in Cleveland OH. You can smell and taste it. The haze is below our tallest buildings downtown too, and that combined with the high humidity is just making it awful to be outside right now. Never was more thankful to Mr Willis Carrier for designing a pressurized system to remove humidity and cool ambient air temperature in 1902 than I am today

Quick note, trees are people too and you can never deny someone their human rights.
Hard for people to wrap their heads around this when you talk forest management. |

Last time I checked we didn't live in Middle Earth and no orcs were building Isengard here that we'd need the trees to rise up against.
