The fun wait begins!
I've been dreaming about owning a Camaro for 30+ years. Right or wrong, I prioritized other obligations ahead of a "for fun" vehicle. I have worked hard the past 2 1/2 years to get things to a point where getting a Camaro would be doable, hoping to make this a reality before they ended 6th gen production. It would be better for me if I could wait another 8 months or so, however, as we all know, 8 months from now will be too late...so it's "now or never".
I took the advice from many on this forum about how best to "pick" a dealer to optimize the chances of getting an allocation in a timely manner. I was able to find a dealer which moves quite a few Camaros that would honor GMS pricing and NOT require any dealer add-ons. I pulled the trigger on an order for a 2SS coupe on 4/19 and I am happy to share that as of today the order is at 3000 status with a TPW of 5/29. I am SO excited! ![]() I've been a long time lurker on this forum and have read through hundreds of threads. I want to thank the members of this forum who have shared their information, opinions, insight and guidance. I have found the volume of information available to be invaluable as I have investigated & planned my trim selection, aftermarket mods, etc. ![]() Over the years I have considered all 3 NA V8 trims (LT1, 1SS, 2SS). I really wanted the 2SS but it seemed those allocations were harder to come by in recent months which is why I considered the other trims. I decided it was 2SS or bust so I was bracing for a long wait on getting an allocation (if ever). I'm glad I rolled the dice. I know that with the shipping delays, etc., it will more than likely be quite a few months before the car arrives. However, now that I know the order has been picked up by GM, my perspective is this: The long (30+ year) wait is over...the fun wait begins!

Congrats Greg! Welcome to the family! I have owned Camaros for more than 3 decades - and it has been a lot of fun.
To keep the wait from being painful - plan out the mods you want to do on your new toy! I personally am rolling the dice for a 2024 - I hope I won't be on the outside looking in. |

Congrats! You're going to love the car. Impressive, getting a 3000 status after only 3 weeks.

I was originally going to target a 2024, hoping for a production window that went to at least July/August 2024, but after the announcement of the shortened 5 month production timeline I decided to act. Hope things line up and you get a 2024!

To independently verify, I asked DC for an order status - more to confirm that it was correctly in the system and he could see it - fully expecting it to still be at 1100. Totally stoked when he came back with 3000 & a TPW! I know the TPW can still change, but it's over the big hurdle (2000).
