Recarro Seats

I’m ordering a new 2023 ZL1 convertible, but the Recarro seats are uncomfortable for me. Is it a direct replacement if I order a pair of the regular SS seats from the parts department. Or possibly find an SS owner that would like to trade.

Ya the Recaros are a tad uncomfy. Might find a 2 SS guy that will trade you.

Recaro seats are part of the ZL1 option and I personally wouldn’t change them out for 2SS seats. You would have to change the rear seat too because of the alcantara of the ZL1 seats to match the front SS seats. The Recaros are uncomfortable at first but you will find with more driving miles they will break in to your body shape and weight in time. I thought the same thing after trading in my 2016 2SS on the used 2017 ZL1 that they were going to be hard and never mold to my body but how I was wrong. I would never get rid of them now.

I love Recaros... Charger seems like living room sofa in comparison, but still comfortable for me.

Predictably, SS 1LE and ZL1 owners did (and will) come to tell you the Recaros are much better, no matter what you posted... I say try them seats and give them some time to "break in" to your body, because it'll be ultra expensive to go back to Recaros if you change your mind again, but if you're firm, just post the set up in the interior section of the classifieds here and you'll find many SS or LT owners willing to trade and pay you some extra.

I will say, having the zl1 recaros definitely makes it harder to get in and out of the car, because of the sides

If you order SS seats from GM, its like 20 separate parts. They do not sell them as a complete assembly. You would need to build them from scratch.

Your best bet is to pull them from a wrecked car.

And I’m guessing that won’t be a cheap purchase from GM!

Man, it took me forever to sell my 2SS seats. Guy who bought them didn’t even have a Camaro.

6'4 280 and the ZL1 seats are fantastic, I've been in C6 Z06, C8, C8 Z06 and they are brutal. I would never give up my recarro's.

I've owned many cars and sat in TONS of different car seats, but the factory Recaros are just wonderful in comparison to about 95% of the other stuff I've sat in. The only other thing I thought was better than these were Cadillac seats from the 90's.

Yep, the Easy Entry/Exit feature helps a lot.

I prefer my pillow top red suede seats on my 83’ Buick Riviera
They were comfy
