2021 camaro lt1 wheels
Hey guys so I have a 2021 LT1 we are going to do upgrades on it. Add a blower long tube headers and etc... so we are going to be around 640whp and I can't figure out what kind of tires and rims I should run so it will be good for this kindda hp. Some people say go with 20x11 and 20x10 some say rum 19 inch wheels. Any suggestions should I go 20 in h or 19 inch wheels and should I run 20x11 on the rear or 20x10?
Thank you |

I’m just looking at you being in California and looking at adding long tube headers and boosting. Good luck with the changing regulations on car mods passing annual inspection.
On topic, I would think that the wheel size will depend on if you are focusing on straight line acceleration uber alles or if you are also looking at road course work. If I was doing a straight up drag car, I’d be looking at 19” rears and an appropriate drag radial and narrower front wheel tire set up.

How do you plan to use the car? In what weather conditions? If there is any competition involved, are there class rules that affect what wheel and tire sizes you can run? How many miles per year do you expect to put on the car, and how often are you willing to buy new tires?

If you go with 20s, another option is to look for takeoff Goodyear Supercar 3 tires from SS 1LEs. These are a little cheaper. They are great track day tires, decent autocross and dry street tires, but not good in the rain or cold.

I don’t think the same tires would fit on my stock 9” / 10” SS wheels. Maybe the OP should just look for SC3 tires in the standard 245 / 275 widths that fit the SS wheels.

That would be best, yeah. That's what I recommended to the OP.

Uh, you did it again (see other question about LT1 engine). He has an LT1, not an LT4.

19 or 20 doesn't affect traction - it's just looks. Since the OEM wheels are 20" I wouldn't downsize to 19", because they will look small diameter compared to what the car comes with. So, I'd go with 20" if it was me.
That said, I'll echo the SS 1LE and ZL1 wheel sizes (20x10 and 20x11) suggestions and recommend going with the ZL1 or SS 1LE factory wheels with 285/30/20 front and 305/30/20 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires. They are less expensive than the Michelins and give great good weather traction. There may be other tires that provide better traction in a straight line, but I don't know which ones they are. Plus, the Goodyears are physically wider than the Michelins in the same size, so they look beefier.
