Opinions on an intercooler for 1100-1200 rwhp?

The intercooler I have now isn't going to cut it but I am going to see what it puts down before doing anything just because I am curious. I will be running an F-1a Procharger on about 20 pounds on a forged 416 with a secondary port injection system.

Right now I have the stage 2 Procharger intercooler which I know will not work but I am going to see what it does. I have been looking at the Procharger Air to Water intercooler and it looks nice but $3500 is a tough pill to swallow with the amount of money I have already spent but will do what I have to.

I am also looking at this air to air https://goertz1.pro/collections/fron...2a-intercooler
and it is a lot cheaper but if I REALLY need to go air to water I will just have to swallow that $3500 pill.

Thoughts or opinions from people with more experience than me? How well would that air to air work or is air to water just going to be the way to go?

What about the procharger Race Intercooler? I believe it is a much bigger core.

both of those look good. a little meth would make a world of difference too.

the friends that have made 1000wheel and switched to air to water said it is a pain in the ass and wish they stayed with a huge fmic and if need be meth.

When you get in to this level of boost and power you really need to look at Liquid Ice to Air intercoolers, or add Meth for cooling

At 20+ PSI you are adding 220 degrees to the Air inlet temp entering the blower.

I have one of the largest air to air intercoolers I have ever seen in a street car and it's not enough my IAT at the 1320 was 200 deg F then I added Meth to keep it to 150 F.

Ted.

Yeah I know I am getting into the territory where it is going to be tough to do what I want. Procharger said their Race one was good to 1000 and after that I would need air to water. Their air to water is not cheap but it is a bolt in kit. Someone told me to check out frozen boost intercoolers and they are CHEAP and I am kind of scared of them because of it. A 1500 hp intercooler system with tank, heat exchanger, pump, fans, lines and everything was only $500 or so.

I am really thinking about just going this route and buy the biggest air to air I can and then if my tuner says the IATs are too high adding meth just for cooling.
