Best chip correction brands?

I have a few chips, nothing too bad. I want to get them corrected. I feel I could do it myself.

I agree. Usually works very well and super easy to use. Small chips are often undetectable after.

I thought about them. Does it actually work that good? Is it that simple? Will it work on a light scratch?

I've also used Dr. Color Chip on my MSB camaro. Its not perfect, but it is very simple to use and it will better than leaving the chips alone.

Dr Color Ship. I had a chip on my A pillar and used Dr Color Chip. I applied multiple layers over time. I showed it to a professional and he said, it's a pretty damn good job. If you don't know about the chip you don't see it.

I used Dr. Color chip and didn't like the way it turned out. I just ordered some from paintscratch.com

I will see how this one does. I think the issue was probably user error but decided to give a different company a try. I did like that the kit from paintscratch came with a clear as well.

I’ve used them as well. Paintscratch.com is the old fashioned method (primer, filler, base coat, clear). It can be better for certain types of larger chips and scratches.

Dr. Color chip is basically an all in one. It does not come with clear because it is built into the product/activator. It does take a little getting used to but once you get good at it you can repair small chips almost perfectly with 1/10th the effort of the old fashioned method.

I may go back with Dr. Color chip if I don't like the way this turns out. I have a few bigger chips that didn't seem to come out good.

I’ve used dr. Colorchip with some success too. You just have to follow the instructions and be prepared to patiently do multiple layers to get the desired build up on the paint.

You are the second one to mention multiple layers and I am confused. You smear the special paint, let it set, then wipe off the excess slowly with the blending solution. If done correctly this should fill in the chip completely in one go.

The single layer of paint you put on is relatively thin. Therefore the chip will be colored over, but not necessarily have the depth to seal it up as if it was never there. Hence additional coats work better.

Once you get on the amount of coats that you feel covers it both in color and depth, you can wait 30 to 45 days and come back with stage one and stage two polish to get it to blend in perfectly.

I understand the concept. However it still sounds like you are just describing regular touch up paint not dr.colorchip.

Dr color chip is much, much thinner than standard touch up paint. It’s what it enables it to spread with a “smear” technique as a Opposed to standard touch up paint. Also colorchip has clear mixed in it, that’s facilitating the one step procedure.
